Prefabrication Systems

PROET S.A. has developed a series of Prefabrication Systems approved by the Ministry of Environment and Public Works (Y.PE.XO.D.E.). Each system is most suitable for specific types of building.
Use of a particular system depends on the building's intended use and also on the required completion time, on the distance to the building site, on the form of the building and on the Client's requirements.

The system combines linear elements (columns, beams, trusses, purlins, gutters) with plane elements (predalles, TT-beams) made from highly resistant reinforced concrete.

System advantages:

  • Large spans up to 30m.
  • Floor heights up to 20m.
  • Earthquake resistance.
  • Fire resistance.

The system is used for Industrial Buildings, Gymnasiums, and Storehouses.

The system consists of load-bearing wall elements, usually 25cm thick, with embedded thermal insulation, combined with predalles and in situ concreting of floor slabs (topping).

System advantages:

  • Adaptation to various architectural layouts.
  • Spans up to 10m.
  • Embedding of electrical ducts.
  • Multi-storey construction.

The system is used for all types and forms of Houses, for Multi-storey Office Buildings, for large School Units, for Military Installations, etc.

The system comprises three-dimensional elements (cells or boxes) consisting of wall panels monolithically connected to floor and roof slabs, made of high strength reinforced concrete C25/30. For transportability the boxes' dimensions do not exceed 3,60x7,20m on plan; max height is 3,50m.

Most layouts for houses or small buildings having up to two storeys, with an optional basement of conventional construction, can be realized by combining different cells in various patterns.

Since the cells are entirely prefabricated in the Plant, the production quality of the assembly is ensured. Furthermore up to 90% of Installations and Finishing Works (electrical cabling, plumbing, heating, flooring, joinery, sanitary fittings, painting etc.) can be completed prior to the transportation of the units to the building site. Thus, the actual Finishing Work to be executed on site is practically minimal.

The system is widely used all over Greece for houses in the city or in the country. It is also suitable for small buildings up to two storeys (Commercial Outlets, Schools, Offices, Health Centres, Police Stations, etc.).

In areas with increased thermal insulation requirements the system may be combined with full external thermal insulation covered by plastering or with additional continuous external thermal insulation covered by a reinforced concrete skin.
